The Department of Defense said on Tuesday that it plans on spending $5.6 billion over the next five years to repair existing vehicles, overhaul the fleet, and upgrade some vehicles.

The Army’s top brass is set to meet in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday to determine what will happen to the fleet that the military operates across the country.

The vehicles have a lifetime of about 25 years, and are primarily used for fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Somalia.
